The entire Profurl team is thrilled to support Davy Beaudart and Julie Simon in their Figaro campaign, building on our previous partnership with Julie during her Mini 6.50 class racing.
Together, they will compete in the upcoming Transat Paprec (mixed double-handed) on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The only race of its kind, the Transat Paprec is a one design competition with all competitors sailing identical Figaro Beneteau 3s.
Both Davy and Julie bring extensive offshore experience, having raced in a variety of classes including Class40, Imoca, Ultim, and Mini 6.50.
To optimize their performance, the seasoned skippers have chosen the NEX 2.5 SPEED. Compared to the standard NEX 2.5, which features a 180mm toothed wheel, the SPEED version has a reduced diameter of 150mm. The mechanisms and working load remain the same, but the furling action is faster—perfectly suited for racing! Due to the one design nature of this race, competitors seek every advantage possible making the NEX 2.5 SPEED a valuable asset onboard.

Davy Beaudart shares his thoughts on the advantages of this furler:
