Between rising sporting ambitions and technical evolution, Quentin Mocudet’s new Figaro campaign promises to be an exciting one. One thing is certain: the adventure is only just beginning, and Profurl is proud to be part of it.
Quentin steps into a new dimension
Following a 2025 season marked by strong performances, including the 2024 French Offshore Racing Championship title in the Mini Class and a 2nd place in the Series category of the 2025 Mini Transat, our partnership with Quentin Mocudet continues.
Introduced to sailing at the age of 8, the young skipper is now taking a decisive step forward, moving on from the Mini 6.50 to an ambitious Figaro project.
“Closing the chapter on the Mini 6.50. Five years of learning in this incredible class, and an intense 2025 season filled with great battles on the water, progress… and amazing memories. Time to move on. Bye bye 986. Now onto a new challenge: I’m taking the helm of a Figaro. A bigger boat, new sensations to discover… and foils under my feet. I can’t wait to take you along on this new adventure,” he sums up.
The change in scale is indeed significant: from 6.50 m to over 10 m, with increased technical and physical demands.
Quentin is also joining a class sailed by some of the biggest names in offshore racing, such as Alexis Loison, winner of the latest Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, who has trusted Profurl for many years.
Technical equipment to match the challenge
To prepare his new boat, Quentin has selected equipment designed to meet the specific demands of the Figaro circuit: intensity and precision, with no compromise.
He opted for a NEX2.5 Speed FurlAssist furler with ratchet system, along with its Solid Sheave termination (Ref. 54555). The ratchet is a key advantage that had already convinced Quentin during his Mini 6.50 campaigns. At the time, he was equipped with a NEX0.9, suited to the boat’s size.
The ratchet system enables furling and unfurling of the headsail in both directions: an extremely valuable feature in the demanding conditions of offshore racing.
A 2026 season underway, heading for the Solitaire du Figaro
Quentin’s race schedule is shaping up to be a busy one:
- Solo Guy Cotten
- Trophée Laura Vergne (March)
- Trophée BPGO (April)
- Solitaire du Figaro (May–June)
- Double Madère (August–September)
The season has already begun with the Solo Guy Cotten. Forced to retire due to technical damage, Quentin nevertheless takes valuable lessons from the experience.
A key highlight of the season, the Solitaire du Figaro will carry special significance this year with a stopover in Pornichet, much to the delight of our local teams.
See you very soon, Quentin. We look forward to welcoming you (in a strong position!) in Pornichet at the end of the second leg of the Solitaire.
